The Product
BobaVida, the Missouri-based maker of what it calls America's #1 Popping Pearl, is moving into the ready-to-drink beverage aisle with ORBA, a 12 fl oz resealable stand-up pouch containing fruit-flavored tea or coconut water and live popping pearls. Retailer pre-orders are open now; first shipments leave the company's Mount Vernon, Missouri facility on November 1, 2026.
The Numbers
ORBA launches in four SKUs — Raspberry Dragon Fruit Black Tea, Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea, Lime in the Coconut Water Refresher, and Strawberry Lemonade Green Tea — retailing at a suggested $11.99 per four-pack (48 fl oz total), with six four-packs per case. The tea-base variants carry 45 calories and 5 grams of prebiotic fiber per pouch; the coconut water base comes in at 70 calories with the same fiber count. The product is naturally sweetened with natural sugars and monk fruit and uses plant-based coloring, with a 14-month shelf-stable shelf life. Mordor Intelligence values the U.S. ready-to-drink tea market at $13.72 billion in 2026, expanding to $17.61 billion by 2031 — a compound trajectory that has drawn both established beverage conglomerates and emerging brands to the segment.
Why It Matters
BobaVida's move is notable because the company controls the core ingredient. Until now, the most visible popping boba RTD in mainstream retail originated from a large packaged-fruit company sourcing pearls externally. BobaVida manufactures its own pearls at a 44,000-square-foot facility in Missouri, giving it vertical integration that rivals in the nascent popping-boba RTD subcategory lack. Scott J. Van Rixel, President of parent company Boh Bah Inc., framed the launch as a direct response to sustained retail and creator demand. "We've shipped millions of units to thousands of homes and businesses, and every retailer and creator kept asking the same question: when is the drink coming?" he said. "Nobody knows the pearl like we do, and you taste it in the first sip."
Benjamin Masters, Ph.D., Managing Member of BobaVida, pointed to the domestic manufacturing footprint as a structural advantage for national retail scaling. The facility underpins both capacity and quality control as the brand pursues broader chain placement — a selling point that has gained traction with retail buyers amid ongoing supply-chain scrutiny across the beverage sector.
Distribution & Outlook
ORBA enters a retail landscape where boba-inspired formats have migrated steadily from independent bubble tea shops into grocery and convenience, driven largely by Gen Z consumers with established category familiarity. BobaVida claims distribution in more than 5,000 stores nationally for its existing pearl products, providing a ready commercial channel for the RTD line. The brand is also activating a TikTok Shop affiliate program that it says has generated tens of millions of views on the parent brand — a social commerce layer it will deploy around retail stocking events.
A separate clear RTD can format, including a limited Ube Cotton Candy Cooler flavor, is set for an exclusive debut at Jungle Jim's International Market in the first week of October, ahead of the broader November 1 retail rollout. Foodservice operators are included in the pre-order window, extending the product's reach beyond traditional grocery into foodservice and hospitality channels. Retailers and distributors can request samples and pricing through the brand's sales contact.
