California fresh-produce grower Bonipak Produce has selected OneTrack.AI's AiOn agentic platform to consolidate data across its farming, cooling, and transportation divisions, the companies announced. The deployment spans every level of the Santa Maria-based operation, which grows and ships vegetables across thousands of acres under a vertically integrated model that has been family-owned since 1932.
Why Agentic AI Now
Bonipak operates a blend of proprietary and third-party software across separate corporate entities, making cross-system data analysis a persistent friction point for leadership. AiOn addresses that by connecting standalone sources — from enterprise resource planning systems to fleet telematics — through a single autonomous agent. The platform runs on large language models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI, served from secure inference infrastructure, and applies institutional-grade governance and permission guardrails to control who can access what data. That security architecture was a decisive factor: the fresh-produce supply chain handles commercially sensitive yield, pricing, and logistics data that operators are reluctant to expose to general-purpose AI tools.
Bonipak evaluated the platform in a sandboxed environment using live operational data before committing to a full rollout. According to the company, the team identified and acted on business opportunities within hours of its first interaction with the system — a benchmark that reflects both the speed of the tool and the volume of previously siloed insight sitting in the company's data stack.
From Query to Automation
The deployment is structured in three phases. The first — querying the agent for answers — is complete. The second, already underway, has Bonipak's newly established analytics team building its own applications on top of the data layer, developing dashboards that visualize the seed-to-sale chain and surface patterns across farming operations. The third phase calls for handing the agent goal-level directives rather than discrete tasks, enabling it to determine autonomously what actions are needed to meet an objective.
"For our production, harvesting, and processing plans to be exceptional, they must be dynamic," said Scott Cruciger, CEO of Bonipak Produce. "OneTrack's agentic solutions will be an exciting next chapter in Bonipak's nearly hundred-year legacy of innovation."
Marc Gyöngyösi, CEO and Founder of OneTrack.AI, positioned the platform's governance model as the differentiator in enterprise produce settings. "Feeding data to any off-the-shelf model isn't hard. Trusting the model with your proprietary intelligence is," he said. "AiOn was purpose-built with institutional-grade governance and security in mind, ensuring the right people have access to the right information to operate at scale."
Implications for Fresh Produce
The partnership reflects an accelerating pattern in fresh-produce and broader agri-food supply chains, where operators are moving beyond static business intelligence dashboards toward systems that can initiate action rather than merely surface data. For a vertically integrated grower managing planting schedules, cold-chain logistics, and multi-entity financials simultaneously, the ability to compress the time between data ingestion and operational decision is a meaningful competitive variable — particularly as labor costs rise and margin pressure in commodity vegetables remains acute.
The deployment also signals growing enterprise appetite for AI tooling built around food and beverage operational workflows rather than adapted from general enterprise software. As covered by Food & Beverage Magazine, AI adoption in food production and distribution is increasingly shifting from pilot programs to enterprise-wide rollouts, with governance and data security cited as the primary preconditions for operator confidence.
