Carl's Jr. is launching the Angus Steakhouse Burger across its U.S. restaurant network, the CKE Restaurants Holdings brand announced November 4, adding a premium limited-time offer timed to the traditionally stronger cold-weather traffic period for quick-service chains.
The new item features two charbroiled 100% Angus beef patties totaling one-third pound, Swiss cheese, grilled onions and bistro steak sauce on a buttered brioche bun. It is available through January 19, 2027, giving Carl's Jr. a roughly 11-week promotional window across its more than 1,000 domestic locations and presence in 24 countries.
The Product Play
The launch fits a well-established QSR playbook: introduce premium, ingredient-forward LTOs during autumn and winter to capture consumers who might otherwise opt for casual-dining concepts. With steakhouse trade-down a documented post-inflation behavioral shift — casual and fine-dining covers remain under pressure as consumers reassess check sizes — a steakhouse-positioning angle at fast-food price points directly targets that value-seeking cohort. The Angus beef specification and bistro sauce branding signal a deliberate move up the perceived quality ladder without altering the drive-through format. For operators and franchise economics, premium beef LTOs historically drive average-check lift even when priced modestly above core menu items.
Marketing & Footprint
To amplify the launch, Carl's Jr. is partnering with comedian and actor Bert Kreischer, whose broad social-media reach and irreverent persona align with the brand's longstanding push to frame indulgence as accessible rather than aspirational. The campaign positions Kreischer navigating mock fine-dining formalities before defaulting to the burger — a creative execution designed to contrast steakhouse imagery with the QSR convenience proposition.
"As the weather cools, we're leaning into the rich, satisfying flavors that make a meal feel a little more special," said Burge Diemer, chief marketing officer for Carl's Jr. "We like the idea of steakhouse indulgence, but at Carl's Jr., you can leave the hassle of steakhouse formalities at the door."
CKE, which also operates the Hardee's banner, runs more than 3,600 franchised or company-operated restaurants across domestic and international markets. The Angus Steakhouse Burger will be promoted through the My Rewards loyalty program and the Carl's Jr. mobile app — distribution channels that have become central to QSR digital engagement and repeat-visit strategy across the sector. Loyalty-gated promotions allow operators to track redemption rates and attach incremental items to LTO orders, improving both data capture and per-visit economics for franchise partners.
