Atlanta-based ContinuServe has acquired The Restaurant Intelligence Solution (TRIS), a St. Petersburg, Florida consulting firm specializing in Restaurant365 implementation, optimization, and back-office operations transformation, the company announced August 18. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal marks the latest expansion of ContinuServe's restaurant and retail practice, which provides outsourced finance, accounting, HR, enterprise applications, and managed IT services to multi-unit operators. TRIS adds a layer the acquirer did not previously hold at scale: hands-on Restaurant365 expertise that extends beyond financial reporting into operational functions including labor management, inventory control, and purchasing workflows.

The Strategic Logic

Restaurant365 has become a consolidating platform in the foodservice back office, attracting operators that want to unify accounting, operations, inventory, labor, and reporting within a single system. For consulting and services firms, depth on that platform is increasingly a prerequisite for winning — and retaining — multi-unit restaurant clients. ContinuServe already holds a Restaurant365 partnership; the TRIS acquisition is designed to deepen that relationship with proven implementation talent rather than building capability organically.

"Over nearly three decades, ContinuServe has built a strong foundation serving restaurant operators through finance, accounting and technology solutions," said Nate Medoff, CEO of ContinuServe. "TRIS adds highly complementary capabilities and deep Restaurant365 expertise that further strengthen our ability to help clients operate more efficiently, make better decisions and achieve sustainable growth."

Personnel and Structure

Jason Gray, President of TRIS and a restaurant industry veteran, will remain with the combined organization to support existing clients and work alongside ContinuServe leadership through the transition. The TRIS team will be integrated into ContinuServe's Multi-Unit Consumer Market practice, headed by Kars Stal, EVP and Head of the Multi-Unit Consumer Market.

Stal framed the acquisition as a capability gap being closed rather than a simple headcount addition. "Restaurants today need more than strong financial visibility. They need operational insights that help them manage labor, inventory, purchasing and overall restaurant performance more effectively," he said. "The addition of the TRIS team complements our existing Restaurant365 partnership and expands our ability to help operators unlock the full value of the platform across both financial and operational workflows."

Gray echoed that positioning, noting that TRIS clients rely on the firm for strategic guidance beyond software configuration. "Moving forward, our clients will benefit from expanded resources, deeper expertise and enhanced capabilities, all while continuing to receive the personalized service and support they value most," he said.

The deal reflects a broader consolidation trend in foodservice technology services, where operators increasingly expect a single partner to handle both the financial architecture and the operational tooling of their back office. For ContinuServe, adding TRIS is a move to own more of that stack — and to reduce the risk that a Restaurant365-specialist competitor captures clients mid-journey. Industry observers tracking restaurant technology adoption and foodservice back-office consolidation have noted rising demand for integrated, platform-native consulting as operators scale across multiple units.
