The Product

Cosori, the VeSync-owned kitchen-appliance brand best known for its air fryers, is entering the specialty-coffee equipment market with Juni, an automatic pour-over coffee machine priced at $299.99 for the glass-carafe configuration and $349.99 for the stainless-steel version. The machine launched September 10 on Cosori.com, with Amazon availability to follow for the glass-carafe model.

The Engineering Case

The Juni's central differentiator is a patent-pending 360° spiral water-flow system that combines a rotating brew basket with an extendable, moving nozzle designed to replicate a trained barista's hand-pour motion. According to Pierce Barnard, Head of Product Innovation at Cosori, the engineering team spent 18 months mapping skilled baristas' movements before translating that motion into a repeatable mechanical system. "The physics weren't the difficult part," Barnard said. "The real work was understanding the human element."

The machine is Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Certified as a Home Brewer, meeting the organization's Golden Cup Standard for optimal extraction yield of 18% to 22%. Temperature control spans a 176°F to 205°F (80°C to 96°C) range, calibrated by roast level, and brew time is adjustable from 3 to 10 minutes depending on batch size. The machine brews at or below 55 dB in standard operation — a specification likely to matter to premium appliance retailers positioning the unit against quieter, design-forward European competitors. Maximum batch size is 1.5 liters. The unit also earned a 2026 Red Dot Design Award.

Four operating modes move from a one-touch Quick Brew preset through Scheduled Brew, an AI Generation function that scans a coffee-bag label to auto-generate a recipe, and a full Barista Mode with parameter-level manual control. Recipes are saved via the VeSync app, with three favorite presets accessible directly on the control panel and a community Recipe Hub housing 25 pre-loaded barista-designed profiles.

Market Context

The launch arrives as the premium home-coffee-equipment segment continues to draw appliance makers who built scale in adjacent categories. Consumer demand for specialty-grade results at home — a trend that accelerated sharply during the pandemic and has remained sticky — has pushed the addressable market for connected, high-performance brewers well above entry-level pod machines. Cosori's $299.99 opening price positions Juni above mass-market drip makers but below prosumer espresso equipment, competing in a corridor increasingly crowded by brands such as Breville, Fellow, and Oxo.

The SCA certification and AI-assisted recipe tools are clearly aimed at reducing the knowledge barrier that has historically confined pour-over coffee to enthusiast consumers — a friction point that limits category volume at retail. For foodservice equipment buyers and specialty coffee retailers, the machine's repeatable extraction profile and app-based recipe management may also make it relevant for staff-training demonstrations or small-format tasting bars.

Cosori's pivot into coffee extends a broader pattern among kitchen-appliance brands of leveraging heat- and fluid-management engineering from one category — in this case, the convective airflow control inside its air fryers — into premium beverage hardware. The company is backed by a 2-year limited warranty.
