The New Lineup
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store launched its 2026 holiday menu on Oct. 20 across approximately 660 company-owned locations in 43 states, adding two new permanent-for-season items alongside four returning favorites and a revamped Thanksgiving Heat & Serve program — a move that positions the family-dining chain squarely in the increasingly competitive holiday meal-solutions market.
The menu additions include Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes — the first time the chain has translated its existing Cinnamon Swirl French Toast flavor profile into pancake format — and the Country Fried Turkey Sandwich, a handheld version of a returning seasonal entrée that pairs crispy turkey tenderloin with gravy and cranberry relish on a toasted bun. Returning items include the Country Fried Turkey plate, Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast, Rich DIY Hot Chocolate and the Cinnamon Swirl Latte, available hot or iced. The breadth of the rollout, spanning breakfast, lunch, dinner and beverages simultaneously, reflects a strategy common among full-service chains to drive visit frequency across dayparts throughout the extended holiday window.
Thanksgiving Meal Kits
The higher-margin opportunity may lie in the chain's Thanksgiving Heat & Serve program, which targets the fast-growing segment of consumers seeking restaurant-quality holiday meals without the preparation burden. Pre-orders are open now via CrackerBarrel.com and the Cracker Barrel mobile app, with customer pickup running Nov. 21 through Nov. 29.
Two tiers are offered: the Turkey Family Dinner, typically priced at $119.99 and designed to feed four to six people, includes one oven-roasted turkey breast, sweet potato casserole, green beans, cornbread dressing, gravy, cranberry relish and sweet rolls. The Turkey Feast, typically priced at $189.99 and serving eight to ten, scales up to two turkey breasts and adds mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and pecan pie. At the item level, holiday pies are individually priced at approximately $14.49 each across flavors including pumpkin, pecan, chocolate pecan and cinnamon roll. Prices may vary by location.
The Heat & Serve format is ready in two hours or less, a specification that targets consumers who have abandoned scratch cooking but remain unwilling to dine out on Thanksgiving itself — a demographic that has driven measurable volume growth for restaurant meal-kit programs industry-wide over the past three years.
Campaign Strategy
"Some of the best holiday memories happen when you're not planning on making them," said Sarah Moore, Chief Marketing Officer at Cracker Barrel. "That's what 'Get Your Season's Worth' is all about. We're bringing the food, traditions and country hospitality that make those moments special to the table all season long."
The campaign framing is deliberately broad, designed to pull traffic not just around Thanksgiving and Christmas but across the entire October-to-January window — a tactic the casual-dining segment has increasingly adopted to smooth revenue curves that historically spike around two or three calendar dates. For Cracker Barrel, which operates a dual-revenue model combining restaurant sales with in-store retail, extending holiday dwell time carries an ancillary benefit for gift and merchandise purchases. Operators and foodservice analysts tracking holiday menu trends in casual dining will note that the chain's simultaneous emphasis on new LTOs and a scalable meal-kit SKU mirrors the dual-track approach taken by several regional and national chains in recent seasons. The full holiday menu is available for a limited time; Cracker Barrel's broader omnichannel ordering strategy — encompassing in-store dining, app-based pickup and third-party delivery — remains the operational backbone for the Heat & Serve program.
