The New Products
Decision Logic, an Omaha-based provider of back-of-house operations software for restaurant operators, has launched two new products — Vitals and ShiftFlow — designed to move performance visibility and shift execution out of the back office and onto the floor in real time. Both products are available now, with beta customers already live ahead of the general release.
The Numbers
Vitals surfaces 34 near-real-time metrics across four operational categories: 14 performance indicators, 11 labor metrics, five productivity measures, and four adjustment-risk signals covering voids and discounts. The dashboard is integrated at launch with Toast and Qu point-of-sale systems, with additional POS connections planned. ShiftFlow, the companion task-management module, supports nine task types at launch — including scheduled orders, inventories, line checks, maintenance, closing activities, and manager reminders — and carries no POS dependency, broadening its addressable install base across Decision Logic's existing customer roster.
The dual-product release is explicitly aimed at the multi-unit segment's persistent management turnover problem. Decision Logic cites a 28% annual manager turnover rate across the restaurant industry as a core design constraint, arguing that a documented, mobile-first workflow reduces the ramp time for incoming managers and creates operational consistency across locations without relying on institutional memory.
"Restaurant managers have always had plenty of data. What they haven't always had is the right information at the moment they can still act on it," said Keegan Conrey, chief executive officer of Decision Logic. "We want managers to be able to see a problem developing, understand what needs attention and do something about it before the shift is over instead of reading about it in a report tomorrow."
Why It Matters
The launch lands amid sustained operator pressure on labor costs and food margins, two categories that Vitals tracks directly against schedule and forecast. For above-store leaders at multi-unit brands — Decision Logic's primary buyer profile, which includes partners such as Golden Corral, Taco John's, Twin Peaks, and RibCrib BBQ — ShiftFlow's centralized task-dispatch capability offers a mechanism to push operational standards down to the unit level without requiring a field visit or a report review the following morning.
The back-of-house software category has attracted significant investment in recent years as operators seek to automate compliance and cost-control workflows that have historically depended on manager judgment and paper-based checklists. Decision Logic's positioning — combining a live performance dashboard with a structured execution layer — mirrors approaches taken by larger enterprise platforms, but targets the mid-market multi-unit operator that may lack the internal analytics infrastructure of a national chain. Operators can view both products at the Decision Logic booth at FSTEC 2026 or request a demonstration at the company's website.
