The Menu Pivot
Gregorys Coffee, the New York City-born specialty coffee chain operated within the Craveworthy Brands portfolio, is using its 20th anniversary fall season to reposition its food-and-beverage offer with five limited-time drinks and a rebuilt breakfast sandwich menu — a dual move that signals the brand is competing more aggressively for the morning daypart beyond the cup.
The seasonal beverage lineup, available through October at Gregorys coffee houses, centers on a Banana Foster platform spanning three formats: a Banana Foster Latte (espresso, banana, butter rum, cinnamon sugar, banana chips, oat milk), an Iced Banana Foster Latte with toasted maple rum vegan foam, and a Banana Foster Matcha Latte built on ceremonial-grade matcha. A Banana Bread Chai — butter rum, spiced chai, oat milk — rounds out the banana-forward range. Returning pumpkin SKUs include the brand's vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Smashing Pumpkin Cold Brew, both built on oat milk bases.
Breakfast as a Growth Lever
The more strategically significant move may be the breakfast overhaul. Gregorys is rolling out five new housemade sandwiches — Ham, Egg & Cheese Croissant; Bacon, Egg & Cheese English Muffin; Sausage, Egg & Cheese English Muffin; Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant; and a Prosciutto, Egg & Brie Baguette — each prepared with two fresh-cracked eggs per unit. The top-protein option reaches 47 grams, positioning the lineup squarely against the high-protein breakfast trend reshaping quick-service and fast-casual menus industry-wide.
Jax Sperling, Vice President of Culinary & Supply Chain for Craveworthy Brands, emphasized that in-store egg preparation — rather than pre-cooked or frozen product — is central to the quality proposition. "Breakfast on the way to work usually asks you to settle for less, and there is no good reason for that," Sperling said. The labor-intensive approach carries real cost implications for operators, but it differentiates the brand from convenience-oriented competitors in the dense New York metro market and in the 50-plus U.S. locations where the chain operates.
Loyalty and Occasion Marketing
Craveworthy is layering promotional mechanics onto the fall calendar to drive Gregorys Rewards enrollment and repeat visits. On National Coffee Day, September 29, every Rewards member who makes a purchase earns 400 Gs — the brand's points currency — redeemable for a free drip coffee. On National Frappe Day, October 7, members unlock a buy-one-get-one frappe offer. The loyalty-first promotional structure mirrors tactics being deployed broadly across specialty coffee and fast-casual segments to defend ticket frequency as consumer spending remains selective.
The chain, which Gregory Zamfotis founded in Manhattan in 2006, has grown to more than 50 U.S. shops. Its parent, Craveworthy Brands, operates more than 20 concepts across 300-plus domestic and international locations.
