Leadership Change
The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY) has appointed Dave Hulays as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 2, 2026, tapping an internal veteran to lead the finance function of one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in North America. Hulays succeeds Steve Voskuil, who has overseen Hershey's finance organization for seven years and has announced plans to retire in early 2027.
Hulays most recently served as Senior Vice President, Finance, and brings nearly 30 years of financial leadership experience split between Hershey and Procter & Gamble. He joined Hershey in 2012 as VP Finance, Canada, and progressively expanded his remit to cover the U.S. and International business units, Global Supply Chain, the Growth Office, mergers and acquisitions, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance Strategy, Global Tax and Treasury, and Enterprise Transformation — a breadth that spans virtually every financial discipline in a complex, multi-geography consumer packaged goods operation.
Voskuil's Transition Role
Voskuil will not exit immediately. He moves into an SVP, Strategic Projects role focused on CEO- and Board-level initiatives while supporting the leadership handover through early 2027, a structure that gives Hulays a runway to assume full operational control without disruption to investor-facing priorities such as earnings guidance and capital allocation strategy. Hershey has navigated a volatile cocoa cost environment in recent periods, making financial discipline and supply-chain finance expertise particularly consequential for the incoming CFO. Coverage of commodity cost pressures facing major confectionery groups is available in our supply-chain analysis and broader executive leadership reporting.
Background and Context
Before joining Hershey, Hulays spent 15 years at Procter & Gamble in roles spanning commercial finance, supply chain, corporate strategy, global business development, and global business services across North American and international markets. That P&G background is a recurring credential among senior finance leaders in the packaged food and beverage sector, where operational scale and rigorous FP&A discipline are prized. Hulays holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from York University's Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
Kirk Tanner, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Hershey Company, framed the appointment around both operational credibility and cultural fit. "Dave is a proven, enterprise-minded finance leader who has helped shape nearly every corner of this business, from our commercial and supply chain organizations to our growth agenda," Tanner said. "He leads with rigor, accountability and courage." Tanner also acknowledged Voskuil's seven-year tenure, describing him as "an incredible partner" whose continued involvement will support the company's most critical near-term priorities during the transition period.
For Hershey, the internal succession signals organizational continuity at a time when the confectionery giant is managing elevated input costs, portfolio evolution, and investor scrutiny over volume trends in its core chocolate and snacking segments. An internally developed CFO with deep institutional knowledge of both the supply chain and the M&A function may be read by analysts as a stabilizing appointment rather than a signal of strategic redirection.
