Cadbury is using New York Fashion Week as the launchpad for its largest U.S. marketing campaign to date, debuting a multi-year brand platform called "There's Magic in More" through a collaboration with New York-based fashion label LUAR and media brand NYLON. The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY), which markets Cadbury in the United States, is positioning the initiative as a long-running platform rather than a one-off activation — a strategic signal of renewed investment behind the premium chocolate brand.
The Activation
The campaign's physical centerpiece is the Cadbury Clutch, a limited-edition insulated handbag created in partnership with LUAR Founder and Creative Director Raul Lopez. Only five units were produced. Each clutch is finished in Cadbury's signature jewel-tone purple with gold accents and individually hand-applied Swarovski crystals — a process that required approximately eight hours per piece. A platinum-silver insulated interior keeps chocolate at a stable temperature. The bags are not for sale; two will be awarded through a consumer sweepstakes beginning September 15.
The clutch made its runway debut at LUAR's Spring/Summer 2027 show on September 14, carried by NYLON Editor-in-Chief Lauren McCarthy and content creator Tefi Pessoa. Cadbury products featured alongside the activation include CARAMELLO XL Bars, DAIRY MILK XL, DAIRY MILK Fruit & Nut XL, CARAMELLO Sweetly Dark XL and CARAMELLO Miniatures — all formats built around the sharing occasion the campaign is designed to amplify.
Strategic Context
For Hershey, the NYFW partnership reflects a broader industry playbook in which legacy confectionery brands seek cultural relevance through fashion and lifestyle crossovers. The premium chocolate segment has grown increasingly competitive as consumers trade up within snacking categories, and Cadbury's XL bar formats are directly positioned to capture higher-ring sharing occasions at retail. Hershey reported more than $11.7 billion in annual revenues across its portfolio, which spans confection, salty snacks and protein; the Cadbury line sits within its premium confection tier alongside brands such as Hershey's and Reese's.
The "There's Magic in More" platform extends beyond the fashion activation into cinematic advertising and social storytelling. A 30-second hero film introduces consumers to what Cadbury calls the "Department of More" — a brand world populated by ingredient specialists, chocolate makers and taste-testers. The multi-chapter narrative structure suggests Hershey intends to sustain the campaign's media weight well into the planning horizon, consistent with how large CPG manufacturers have increasingly shifted from episodic campaigns to always-on brand platforms. "At Cadbury, we believe the most memorable moments begin with a simple act of generosity, whether that's sharing a piece of chocolate or going the extra mile for someone else," said Eric Newton, Director, Premium Chocolate at The Hershey Company. "The Cadbury Clutch brings that belief to life in a delightfully unexpected way, combining beautiful craftsmanship, delicious chocolate and an irresistible invitation to open it up and share."
Raul Lopez of LUAR framed the partnership as a natural brand alignment. "From the silhouette and color to the hand-applied crystals, every element feels intentional and true to both brands," he said. "It is bold and beautifully crafted, but designed to be opened and shared."
