James B. Beam Distilling Co. is converting part of its historic Clermont, Kentucky campus into a dedicated creative workspace, launching a program called Creator Campus that invites podcasters, musicians, filmmakers, digital creators and storytellers to apply for residency-style access to the distillery's grounds and facilities.

The initiative, announced August 4, represents a strategic extension of the distillery's hospitality and experiential programming — a segment of growing commercial importance for large spirits producers as on-premise traffic and destination tourism drive incremental brand engagement. JBBDCo. is the home of Jim Beam, which the company describes as the world's No. 1 bourbon, alongside Knob Creek and Basil Hayden, and is a subsidiary of Suntory Global Spirits.

What Creators Receive

Selected participants will gain access to the distillery's physical spaces for recording, filming and collaborative retreats. The program layers in experiential hospitality elements — whiskey tastings, educational sessions, access to the on-site restaurants and the Clermont Supper Club event series — positioning the campus as both a production venue and a brand immersion environment. Applicants will be evaluated on the originality of their concepts, creative vision and alignment with JBBDCo.'s storytelling ethos. Participation is restricted to individuals 21 years of age or older.

Spirits Brands and the Creator Economy

The move reflects a broader pivot by premium spirits producers toward experiential and content-driven marketing as traditional advertising channels face diminishing returns among younger legal-drinking-age consumers. For JBBDCo., which operates distilleries with more than 225 years of documented heritage, the Clermont campus is already a functioning tourist destination. Creator Campus effectively monetises that infrastructure in a new direction — trading studio time and access for authentic content that extends brand reach across podcasting platforms, streaming and social channels without the costs of conventional media buys.

Freddie Noe, eighth-generation master distiller at James B. Beam Distilling Co., framed the program in terms of the distillery's foundational identity: "At its core, JBBDCo. has always been about craft — making something meaningful to be shared, bringing people together. Creator Campus builds on that tradition by opening our doors in a new way, inviting creators to draw inspiration from this place as I have and create something entirely their own."

The spirits and hospitality sectors have increasingly explored similar creator-residency models. Destination distilleries and breweries have long competed for agritourism and experiential hospitality dollars; formalising content-creator access is a logical extension that aligns with how media consumption and brand discovery increasingly operate for consumers under 40. For trade operators and foodservice hospitality professionals, the Clermont model offers a case study in how beverage-alcohol venues can diversify revenue streams and marketing reach simultaneously.

The Creator Campus application portal is live, with selections based on a competitive review process. JBBDCo. has not disclosed the number of residency slots available per cycle, the duration of individual stays, or whether participants receive any financial compensation. Those details, along with full eligibility terms, are available through the application site. Brands in the premium spirits segment will be watching closely to see whether the format gains traction as a replicable playbook.
