Land O'Lakes is relaunching its Every Little Thing® Butter Spread at select Kroger locations, reviving a limited-run SKU that generated outsized consumer interest when it debuted for a short window in March 2023. The Arden Hills, Minnesota-based dairy cooperative is positioning the relaunch as a summer seasonal play, targeting grilling, brunch and snacking occasions.

The flavored butter spread combines garlic, onion, poppy seeds and hemp seeds in a base built on Land O Lakes® Butter. The formulation mirrors the everything-bagel seasoning profile that has sustained strong retail velocity across multiple food categories since breaking out of the bakery aisle roughly a decade ago. No pricing or unit-volume targets were disclosed by the company.

The return to Kroger — the largest U.S. supermarket chain by store count — gives Land O'Lakes a nationally scaled distribution partner for what remains a limited-time offering. Flavored and compound butter spreads have been among the faster-growing segments within the broader refrigerated dairy case, as consumers trade up from commodity stick butter toward value-added formats that carry higher retail price points and fatter margins for both manufacturer and retailer. Land O'Lakes competes in that space against private-label entrants as well as specialty producers who have expanded distribution through club and natural channels. The cooperative, which reported approximately $18 billion in annual revenue in its most recently disclosed fiscal year, has increasingly leaned on innovation and limited-edition formats to sustain shelf presence and brand relevance beyond its core butter and dairy commodities business. Seasonal and nostalgia-driven relaunches have become a standard toolkit across packaged food, allowing brands to generate earned media and social engagement without the capital commitment of a permanent line extension.

Land O'Lakes did not provide a distribution end date, shelf-door count, or forward guidance tied to the relaunch. The company's consumer foods division, which houses the retail butter and spread portfolio, operates alongside its agricultural inputs and animal nutrition segments under the cooperative structure.
