The Promotions

Laredo Taco Company, the Tex-Mex restaurant brand operated by 7-Eleven, Inc. inside its convenience-store network, is activating a slate of limited-time deals across more than 650 locations to coincide with National Taco Day falling on a Tuesday — October 6, 2026. The push spans BOGO offers and bundled meal deals priced at $5, available at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores.

The one-day BOGO offers, valid only on October 6, cover two of the brand's higher-traffic SKUs: Potato & Egg Tacos at breakfast and Chicken Fajita Tacos later in the day. The longer-running promotions — active from August 26 through October 27 — include two El Gran Tocino tacos for $5 or a single El Gran Tocino burrito for $5, alongside a $5 Taco Meal Deal comprising a chicken taco, a bean and cheese taco, a small side (queso, guacamole or Mexican rice) and a Big Gulp beverage.

Why It Matters

The promotion underscores the growing importance of in-store foodservice to large-format convenience retailers. For 7-Eleven, which operates more than 12,000 stores across the U.S. and Canada, Laredo Taco Company represents a differentiated fresh-food offering at a time when the convenience channel faces intensifying competition from fast-casual operators and quick-service drive-throughs competing on value. The $5 price point is a deliberate entry into a value-meal conversation that has dominated foodservice marketing through 2025 and into 2026, as consumers continue to trade down from full-service dining without abandoning restaurant-quality expectations.

"National Taco Day aligning with Taco Tuesday is the kind of coincidence taco fans can't ignore," said William Armstrong, Senior Vice President, Restaurant Operations and Innovation at 7-Eleven, Inc. "At Laredo Taco Company, we're celebrating with flavorful salsas, carefully marinated meats and warm flour tortillas our customers know and love, along with deals worth showing up hungry for."

Convenience Foodservice Scale

With over 650 locations, Laredo Taco Company operates on-site kitchens that prepare handmade flour tortillas, marinated meats and hand-cracked eggs daily — a model that positions it closer to fast-casual standards than traditional convenience-store food. The brand is available for dine-in, catering and delivery through the 7NOW app. For context on how convenience-channel operators are investing in proprietary foodservice brands to lift basket size and loyalty program engagement, Laredo Taco Company's scale makes it one of the larger captive restaurant concepts in U.S. retail. The 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards loyalty programs, which together claim more than 100 million members, provide a direct marketing channel for time-sensitive promotions of this type.
