The Seasonal Offer
Melting Pot, the 92-unit fondue chain serving more than 3 million guests annually, launched its Fondue Into Fall limited-time menu on Sept. 22, stacking autumn-forward flavors against a concurrent consumer giveaway designed to drive traffic through the holiday shoulder period. The move is a direct play for incremental covers during a stretch of the calendar — late September through November — when casual-dining operators increasingly compete on occasion-based marketing.
The core LTO is a three-course experience: a Cranberry Pecan Cheese Fondue blending Butterkäse and Fontina with apple cider, Cherrywood smoked ham, dried cranberries and candied pecans; an Apple Almond Salad with Gorgonzola and apple mustard vinaigrette; and a Pumpkin Spice White Chocolate Fondue finished with pumpkin spice caramel and autumn-spiced graham cracker crunch. Guests can upgrade to a four-course format by adding an entrée — Classic, Land & Sea or Steak Lovers — alongside a new seasonal vegetable medley.
The Giveaway Mechanics
Running Sept. 22 through Oct. 11, the Ultimate Fonduegiving Feast Giveaway awards four grand prizes, each a VIP dinner for six guests featuring the four-course Fondue Into Fall experience with a personalized tablescape. Entry requires guests to submit a nomination describing someone they are grateful for — a social-engagement mechanic that trades on user-generated content while keeping acquisition costs low relative to traditional media buys. The format mirrors tactics used across the polished-casual segment to build email lists and social reach ahead of Q4.
"Melting Pot has always been about more than a meal — it's about bringing people together and creating memorable experiences around the table," said John "JC" Crawford, Chief Executive Officer of Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. "Fondue Into Fall captures that spirit with seasonal flavors meant for sharing, and The Ultimate Fonduegiving Feast giveaway gives our guests another reason to gather around the fondue pot."
Charitable Tie-In and Growth Outlook
Overlapping with the fall promotion, Melting Pot will run its annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fundraiser from Oct. 3 through Dec. 27. Guests who donate $20 at any location receive a $30 Donate and Dine Card valid on a future visit — a cause-marketing structure that simultaneously drives repeat traffic and supports the chain's philanthropic positioning heading into the holiday dining season.
The brand, founded in Maitland, Florida, in 1975, currently operates across 32 states and has four additional locations expected to open over the next 12 months. For context, the polished-casual and experiential dining segment has posted resilient guest-check averages even as broader casual-dining operators face traffic headwinds, making occasion-driven LTO strategies a recurring lever for chains that anchor their value proposition in shared, multi-course formats. Pricing and participation vary by location.
