The Collection

Pendleton Whisky launched the Pendleton Whisky Heritage Collection on September 15 at the Pendleton Round-Up in Oregon, debuting a limited set of rare Western drinking vessels and exclusive collaboration barware with starting auction bids ranging from $65 to $9,500. The Hood River, Oregon-based brand — distributed by Proximo Spirits — is positioning the release as a branded heritage play, blending collectible artisan pieces with a charitable giving component in a category where premium whisky labels increasingly compete on storytelling and limited-edition drops.

The Auction and Charitable Angle

The centerpiece is a one-of-one sterling silver decanter commissioned from Montana-trained Western silversmith Beau Compton, featuring hand-sculpted scrollwork and the Pendleton Round-Up's bucking horse motif rendered in 10-karat rose gold. Six additional collector vessels round out the auction inventory — among them a sterling silver buffalo skull flask, Wyoming steer horn cups dating to the cattle-drive era of the 1800s, and a cast-iron and cowboy-boot decanter by Dallas-based artist Jan Barboglio. All proceeds from the Compton commission and the six vintage pieces will be directed to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Online bidding runs through October 6 at PendletonWhisky.com, with details on subsequent auction rounds to follow.

"The best pieces tell a story long before you ever pick them up or fill them up," said Compton. "I wanted this vessel to feel like it belonged to Pendleton Whisky's history — as though it had already been passed from one generation to the next."

Brand Collaboration and Road Map

Alongside the auction items, Pendleton Whisky is rolling out a separately purchasable collaboration line with Pendleton Woolen Mills, the century-old Oregon textile manufacturer that shares both a name and a heritage identity with the whisky brand. The barware accessories — wool-lined wooden bar trays, leather-trimmed barware rolls, wool-and-leather coasters, and cocktail glass wraps with antique brass snaps — are priced for at-home use and available online while supplies last. The collaboration underscores a broader trade trend: spirits brands forging cross-category licensing deals with legacy lifestyle manufacturers to extend shelf presence beyond the liquor aisle into gifting and home-entertaining channels.

The collection is structured as a multi-stop touring event. After the Pendleton Round-Up, it travels to Fort Worth, Texas, in December, where Pendleton Whisky holds the designation of Official Whisky of the Stockyards. A third installation is slated for Denver in January 2027, timed to the National Western Stock Show, with newly commissioned works from Compton added at each stop. The touring format reflects a growing spirits-industry tactic: experiential marketing tied to existing brand equity events rather than standalone activations, which carry higher fixed costs and lower built-in audiences.

Tia Bledsoe, Brand Heritage Director for Pendleton Whisky, framed the collection's intent in trade terms: "The Pendleton Whisky Heritage Collection honors the artistry, objects and rituals that have long surrounded a well-earned pour." The brand has been the Official Whisky of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Professional Bull Riders, giving it consistent access to a loyal, regionally concentrated consumer base that indexes highly for premium American whisky.
