The Offer

Pret A Manger has relaunched Club Pret, its monthly beverage subscription, at $50 per month — a price point the chain frames as sub-$2 per day when members maximize the allowance of up to five barista-made drinks daily. New subscribers currently receive their first month at no charge. The refreshed program extends beyond coffee to include organic teas, lattes, hot chocolates and newly added matcha drinks, all served hot or iced in any size with any milk or plant-based milk variant, plus unlimited add-ons such as syrups, compotes and extra espresso shots at no incremental cost. Members also receive 20% off the full Pret food and drink menu.

The relaunch positions Club Pret squarely against the growing field of foodservice subscription models — a category that gained significant traction post-pandemic as quick-service and fast-casual operators sought to lock in visit frequency and reduce churn. Panera Bread's Unlimited Sip Club, priced at $14.99 per month, targets a similar commuter and remote-worker demographic, though Pret's offer broadens the daily drink ceiling to five and layers in a food discount, raising the potential value proposition for high-frequency visitors.

The Activation

To mark the relaunch, Pret will stage an after-hours event on Friday, October 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. ET at its Union Square location at 857 Broadway in New York City. The event is open to the public and will include a live DJ, complimentary espresso and matcha martinis, and the unveiling of a bespoke exterior mural by New York street artist Frank Ape, also known as Brandon Sines, whose recurring Sasquatch character has featured widely across the city. The mural depicts a range of Pret drinks.

Club Pret members who attend — or who join on-site via the Pret app — will receive a limited-edition Pret x Frank Ape tote bag, with Frank Ape signing each one in person. Five of the totes will contain a golden key redeemable for one complimentary year of Club Pret membership, adding a sweepstakes mechanic designed to drive app downloads and subscription sign-ups at the door.

Operator Significance

"We've given Club Pret a serious upgrade, with more value and more flexibility in how you enjoy your daily Pret fix," said Felipe Athayde, President of North America, Pret A Manger. "The party lasts one night, but the perks keep coming every day."

For Pret, which operates more than 730 shops across 21 markets globally and employs more than 9,500 team members, the U.S. subscription program is a key lever for building loyalty in a competitive urban café market. Subscription-based beverage revenue provides operators with predictable, upfront cash flow and incentivizes visit frequency beyond the single-purchase occasion — dynamics that are particularly valuable in high-rent markets like Manhattan. The Union Square shop event functions simultaneously as a consumer marketing moment and a trade signal that Pret is investing in its North American loyalty infrastructure. Operators and retail analysts tracking beverage subscription trends will note that the unlimited customization clause removes a common friction point that has historically limited upsell opportunity in subscription tiers.
