Pulmuone Foods USA, the Fullerton, California-based subsidiary of South Korean food conglomerate Pulmuone and the parent company of tofu brands Nasoya and Wildwood, is introducing three single-serve Asian noodle bowl varieties at the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association Show in Orlando, Florida, running June 7 through 9. The new SKUs — Tantanmen, Dan Dan and Jajangmyeon — are positioned as refrigerated, minutes-to-prepare meals targeting the premium convenience tier of the deli and prepared-foods aisle.

The product launch marks Pulmuone's first formal entry into the single-serve Asian noodle bowl format under its U.S. commercial umbrella, according to the company's announcement. All three varieties are framed around authentic regional profiles: Tantanmen draws from Japanese-Chinese spiced sesame broth traditions, Dan Dan from Sichuan street food, and Jajangmyeon from Korean-Chinese black bean sauce cuisine. Pulmuone did not disclose retail price points, distribution scale or first-year revenue targets in its release.

The debut arrives as the refrigerated Asian-food segment continues to expand within the broader U.S. specialty and natural channel. According to data tracked by Food & Beverage Magazine, consumer demand for globally inspired, minimal-prep formats accelerated through 2024 and 2025, driven by younger demographics trading restaurant occasions for elevated at-home alternatives. The IDDBA venue — which primarily serves dairy, deli and bakery retail buyers — signals Pulmuone's intent to secure placement in high-traffic perimeter-of-store sets rather than the centre-aisle ambient noodle category.

Pulmuone's U.S. portfolio has historically anchored on tofu and plant-based protein through Nasoya, the category's volume leader, and Wildwood, which competes in the organic and natural segment. The noodle bowl extension represents a lateral move into prepared meals, a format that carries stronger margin potential in deli fresh-set programmes than shelf-stable alternatives. The company has not indicated whether the line will eventually expand to ambient or frozen channels. Retailers and distributors can preview the full lineup at Booth #5209 during the three-day show.

The launch also reflects a broader industry pattern in which Asian-heritage food manufacturers are leveraging their authenticity credentials to premiumise convenience formats, a dynamic explored in recent product-innovation coverage and retail-channel analysis on this platform.
