Nashville hot chicken concept The Red Chickz has signed new franchise development agreements covering the Dallas-Fort Worth market and Las Vegas — the brand's first foothold in Nevada — building on the July opening of its Carrollton, Texas location, the company said Thursday.

Texas as Launchpad

The Carrollton restaurant, which opened in July 2026, is The Red Chickz's second Texas unit and was cited by the company as the direct catalyst for the follow-on DFW development commitments. The back-to-back signings reflect a franchise pipeline strategy that uses successful openings to accelerate regional density before moving into new states — a model increasingly common among fast-casual concepts targeting Sun Belt and Mountain West growth corridors.

Shawn Lalehzarian, CEO and Co-Founder of The Red Chickz, described the approach as deliberately selective. "Expansion isn't simply about adding dots to a map — it's about finding the right franchise partners, the right real estate, and the right markets where The Red Chickz can build a lasting presence," he said. The brand declined to specify unit counts or investment terms for either agreement.

Into Las Vegas

The Las Vegas signing represents the brand's first move into Nevada and broadens its geographic footprint beyond its California origins and Texas beachhead. Las Vegas has emerged as a competitive proving ground for emerging food and beverage chains: the market combines high tourist foot traffic with a sizable and growing permanent population, making it attractive to franchise operators seeking blended volume from visitors and locals alike.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2018, The Red Chickz has positioned its product around six heat levels and a menu that extends beyond the standard chicken sandwich format — incorporating items such as tacos and French Toast sandwiches — differentiating it from the crowded field of Nashville hot chicken competitors that includes Raising Cane's, Dave's Hot Chicken, and Howlin' Ray's. The brand's emphasis on a distinct West Coast flavor identity and a digitally engaged customer base has underpinned its franchise recruitment pitch.

The Nashville hot chicken segment has been among the most active in fast-casual franchising over the past several years, with established players and independents alike accelerating unit development to capture consumer demand for bold, craveable formats. For operators evaluating franchise investment in the quick-service restaurant category, the segment's relatively low build-out complexity and strong off-premise suitability remain key attractions.

Additional Red Chickz restaurants are currently under development, though the company has not disclosed a total target unit count or a timeline for systemwide openings. Industry observers tracking franchise expansion in the food and beverage sector will note that the simultaneous commitment to two major markets signals ambition to accelerate beyond the brand's current footprint, even as it stops short of announcing a formal multi-year growth target.
