The Offer Stack

Red Lobster is deploying four distinct promotional mechanics across October, a concentrated value offensive that spans price-point discounting, daypart extension, menu innovation, and family-occasion targeting. The sequence begins with a four-day window — Oct. 9 through Oct. 12 — during which dine-in guests can add one individually sized appetizer to any entrée for $1. Eligible items include Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp, Shrimp Cocktail, and Mozzarella Cheesesticks.

The timing is deliberate. Red Lobster emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2024 under new ownership through RL Investor Holdings LLC, and the brand has since leaned heavily on promotional cadences to re-establish visit frequency and guest counts. Layering multiple simultaneous offers — each with a defined start date and expiration — is a textbook traffic-driving playbook for a casual-dining chain rebuilding loyalty after a restructuring.

Late Night and Endless Shrimp

Starting Oct. 12, the chain adds a Late Night Happy Hour running 9 p.m. to close, Monday through Friday at participating locations. The extension supplements the existing 3–6 p.m. weekday window, creating two discrete value periods per day. Both tiers offer $6 signature cocktails, wine, and beer, plus $2 off select starters including Lobster Flatbread, Crab Queso, and Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms. A seasonal Fire & Tide Margarita — made with Cuervo Tradicional Blanco Tequila and Fireball Whisky — is priced at $6 during happy hour, with a "Mega" upgrade available for an additional $3. Daypart expansion into late night signals a push for incremental covers without cannibalizing core dinner business, a strategy that several casual-dining peers have tested as a path to margin improvement.

Also on Oct. 12, OLD BAY Seasoned Scampi joins the Endless Shrimp rotation, bringing the total mix-and-match lineup to six preparations. Endless Shrimp is priced at $24.99 at most participating locations and includes one side and Cheddar Bay Biscuits. The OLD BAY tie-in is a low-cost menu extension: the seasoning brand carries broad consumer recognition, and adding it to an existing platform avoids the supply-chain complexity of a full new entrée. Endless Shrimp became a flashpoint during Red Lobster's financial difficulties after the chain made it a permanent menu fixture at a fixed price in 2023, contributing to significant losses. Repositioning it as a limited-time offer at $24.99 reflects the operational lessons drawn from that episode. For more on casual-dining pricing strategy, see our sector coverage.

Halloween and Family Traffic

The promotional calendar closes with a Halloween-weekend kids-eat-free offer running Oct. 30 through Nov. 1 across U.S. and Canadian locations. For dine-in, one full-price adult entrée unlocks up to two free kids meals when children arrive in costume; online To Go orders using promo code SPOOKY26 redeem one free kids meal per qualifying adult entrée, capped at a $9.99 maximum discount per free meal.

"We want guests to have more reasons to say yes to Red Lobster when they're getting together," said Andy Pitts, Chief Marketing Officer at Red Lobster. "This October, that means more value and choice, with some fun built in, all centered on the food, flavor and hospitality they expect from us." The family-occasion framing targets a segment that casual seafood chains have historically over-indexed on, and a costume requirement adds a shareability element intended to generate organic social media reach at minimal incremental cost.

The breadth of this October push — four discrete offers across roughly three weeks — suggests Red Lobster's marketing team is prioritizing trial and frequency over margin in the near term, a common posture for a post-restructuring brand still rebuilding its guest base. Whether the volume gains justify the discount depth will be a key question when RL Investor Holdings LLC next reports operating results.
