The Offer

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. (NASDAQ: RRGB) is rolling out a new limited-time dinner bundle priced at $17.99, giving dine-in guests two half-portion entrées, coleslaw, one Bottomless Side, and a choice of a select appetizer or dessert. The Dinner Double Feature launched August 10 and is available at participating locations nationwide from 4 p.m. to close.

The chain says the bundle yields 180 possible meal combinations, letting guests mix proteins across five entrée options — including Crispy Chicken Strips, Crispy Fried Shrimp, Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Breast, Frank's RedHot Buzz Sauce Crispy Chicken Strips, and Whiskey River BBQ Ribs. Bottomless Side choices include steak fries, Yukon chips, or steamed broccoli. Appetizer options span Chips & Salsa, Crispy Fried Pickles, Pretzel Bites, and Queso Fundido, while dessert alternatives are a Warm Brownie Sundae or Warm Cookie Sundae.

Value Positioning

The launch arrives as casual-dining operators face sustained pressure on guest traffic from fast-casual competition and lingering consumer sensitivity to menu prices. A bundled, all-inclusive dinner at sub-$18 gives Red Robin a sharply defined value proposition to promote across its nearly 500 U.S. and Canadian locations. The fixed price — excluding tax, gratuity, and upgrades — is designed to convert value-seeking diners who might otherwise trade down to quick-service options.

"Dinner shouldn't have to be a choice between variety and value," said Dave Pace, president and CEO of Red Robin. "With the Dinner Double Feature, guests can mix and match their favorites, enjoy a complete meal and get the generous portions and hospitality they expect from Red Robin, all for $17.99."

The bundle is dine-in only, a deliberate structural choice that should support per-table revenue and labor efficiency relative to off-premises channels, which typically carry higher packaging and delivery costs. The 4 p.m. start time channels the promotion into peak dinner dayparts, where casual-dining chains have the most to gain from incremental covers.

Competitive Context

Red Robin's value push echoes broader moves across the casual-dining segment, where chains have leaned into combo meals and prix-fixe-style bundles to defend traffic against fast-casual competitors offering lower average checks. The bundle format — anchored by a specific price point rather than a discount percentage — is increasingly the preferred promotional mechanic because it frames perceived value clearly without training guests to expect percentage-off deals. Red Robin has not disclosed a projected sales uplift or coverage percentage for the Dinner Double Feature, and the company has characterized the promotion as limited-time without specifying an end date.
