Tropical Smoothie Cafe has secured an official sponsorship deal with the Loco Beach Coconuts, one of six teams competing in the Banana Ball Championship League alongside the Savannah Bananas, positioning the Atlanta-based smoothie chain inside one of live entertainment's fastest-growing touring properties. The partnership runs through October 2026.
Under the agreement, Tropical Smoothie Cafe becomes the Official Smoothie Partner of the Loco Beach Coconuts and will deploy a limited-time menu item — the Loco Beach Colada Smoothie — alongside player appearances, fan giveaways and branded activations at select games across the United States. No financial terms were disclosed.
The Banana Ball Championship League, which also fields the Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters and Indianapolis Clowns, has become a notable vehicle for consumer-brand sponsorships, drawing sold-out crowds on its national circuit. For Tropical Smoothie Cafe, the tie-up represents a bet that experiential, venue-based marketing can drive trial and brand recall among younger, event-going demographics — a strategy increasingly favoured by fast-casual chains competing for share of stomach outside traditional dayparts.
Limited-time offerings have been a consistent traffic driver in the smoothie and café segment. Operators including Jamba and Smoothie King have used seasonal SKUs to compress purchase cycles and generate social media lift at relatively low cost compared with broad media buys. Tropical Smoothie Cafe, which operates more than 1,400 locations across the country, has leaned on LTOs as a franchise system growth lever as it competes for afternoon and between-meal visits.
The sponsorship also reflects a broader pattern of regional and touring sports leagues attracting national F&B brand partners, filling a gap left by the high entry costs of major-league deals. Brands gain access to captive, enthusiastic audiences without the nine-figure rights fees associated with MLB or NBA activations.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe did not provide guidance on expected unit-level lift from the campaign or disclose the number of Loco Beach Coconuts game stops at which activations will appear.
