Vireo Growth Inc. has completed its acquisition of Bridgewell Agribusiness LLC and separately announced plans to acquire dispensary operations in Nevada and Maryland, the company disclosed on June 5, broadening its vertical integration strategy across multiple U.S. markets.

The company did not disclose financial terms for the Bridgewell transaction or the two pending dispensary acquisitions. Bridgewell Agribusiness adds cultivation and agribusiness infrastructure to Vireo's existing production platform, a move that operators in the sector have increasingly pursued to reduce input costs and improve margin control at the farm level.

The planned dispensary acquisitions in Nevada and Maryland represent Vireo's continued push into high-volume retail markets. Nevada ranks among the top five U.S. cannabis markets by annual retail sales, while Maryland's adult-use programme — launched in mid-2023 — has drawn sustained operator interest given its densely populated consumer base and relatively limited licensed-outlet count. Securing retail licences or acquiring established dispensaries in both states would give Vireo direct consumer-facing revenue channels to complement its upstream agribusiness assets.

Vertical integration has become a defining theme across the broader food, beverage, and agricultural input sectors as margin pressure intensifies. Operators from specialty crop producers to functional-beverage brands have moved to control more of their supply chains, a trend tracked closely by Food & Beverage Magazine and covered in depth across F&B Industry News's agribusiness and supply-chain reporting and mergers-and-acquisitions coverage.

Vireo Growth did not provide pro forma revenue figures, a combined entity valuation, or a timeline for closing the Nevada and Maryland dispensary deals. Investors and analysts are expected to seek additional detail on integration costs and licensing contingencies when the company next addresses the capital markets.
