# Whiskey House of Kentucky Debuts 3D Barrel-Tracking Portal
Whiskey House of Kentucky has rolled out Customer Portal 2.0, a wholesale redesign of its proprietary client platform that gives brand and distilling customers a photorealistic, navigable 3D model of the rickhouse where their barrels are stored — alongside real-time production metrics, flexible unit conversions, and direct connectivity to warehouse systems with no middleware layer.
The Core Feature
The centrepiece of the upgrade is a three-dimensional warehouse viewer that lets customers open a true-to-life model of their rickhouse, filter by lot or schedule order, locate matching barrels visually, and pull full production records by selecting an individual barrel. The company, which operates a closed campus and carries no proprietary brands of its own, positions the tool as a transparency mechanism that also supplies brand owners with data to support storytelling around provenance, age, and barrel provenance — increasingly valuable selling points in the premium American whiskey segment.
What Else Shipped
Beyond the 3D viewer, the release introduces five additional capability sets. A card-based customisable dashboard surfaces inventory and production key performance indicators, a barrels-by-location visualisation, schedule-order analytics, and a one-click branded download menu. Redesigned inventory and production tiles add at-a-glance metrics including average wine gallons per barrel, entry proof, cooperage detail, and inventory by age. Customers can now select their preferred volume unit — liters of pure alcohol, wine gallons, or proof gallons — and all tables, charts, and CSV exports convert automatically server-side, eliminating manual reconciliation. A context-aware guided help system launches relevant walkthroughs from any page, with a dedicated first-sign-in tour that drops new users directly into the 3D warehouse.
On the infrastructure side, the portal connects directly to Whiskey House's warehouse and production systems, eliminating nightly batch exports and the data-staleness risk they carry. A fail-closed security layer enforces per-customer data isolation on every request, and account routing is handled independently so the operator can upgrade or migrate individual customers without service interruption.
Why It Matters
The launch reflects a broader shift in contract and custom spirits production toward B2B platform investment. As premium whiskey brands scrutinize supply-chain transparency more closely — driven partly by consumer demand for verifiable provenance and partly by tighter inventory management practices post-pandemic — contract distillers that can offer documented, real-time traceability hold a competitive advantage in client acquisition and retention.
"This release raises the bar for what a custom whiskey producer can offer its customers," said John Hargrove, president, COO, and co-founder. "We combined advanced manufacturing, strong systems, and real technical investment to build something that is genuinely useful to our customers every single day."
The Elizabethtown, Kentucky facility describes itself as applying advanced food-manufacturing best practices to distilling — an operational philosophy increasingly common among contract spirits producers competing for premium brand clients. Customer Portal 2.0 is available immediately to all existing Whiskey House customers.
