BWH Hotels is retiring its operating identity in favor of WorldHotels, rebranding its entire global portfolio of more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands and 100 countries under a single masterbrand — a structural overhaul the company says will sharpen portfolio clarity for travelers and improve distribution economics for independent hotel owners.

The Loyalty Consolidation

Central to the transformation is WorldHotels Rewards, a unified loyalty program set to launch Jan. 5, 2027, that merges Best Western Rewards and the legacy WorldHotels Rewards into one platform with 70 million combined members. The redesigned program introduces three membership tiers while preserving existing benefits — points that do not expire, status matching and exclusive member rates. Members will carry over their current points at unchanged value. Full program specifications will be disclosed Nov. 16, 2026.

"WorldHotels Rewards was designed with our guests at the heart of every decision," said Joelle Park, Chief Marketing Officer, WorldHotels. "By bringing our loyalty program together under WorldHotels Rewards, we're making it easier for guests to discover the full breadth of our portfolio, find the right hotel for every journey and feel welcomed wherever they stay."

For foodservice and hospitality operators, the shift carries direct commercial implications. A unified loyalty ecosystem increases the likelihood of on-property dining and beverage spend as guests who book direct — incentivised by member rates — tend to demonstrate higher ancillary revenue per stay. Consolidated loyalty programs at scale have historically driven stronger repeat-visit rates at hotel restaurants and bars, a dynamic closely watched by food-and-beverage directors across the full-service segment.

The Digital Infrastructure

To support the rewards overhaul, WorldHotels has invested in a new website and redesigned mobile app anchored by a proprietary discovery platform built from more than 10,000 hours of insights gathered from hotel teams worldwide. The digital layer is designed to surface local dining, neighborhood and experiential content alongside booking and loyalty management — a direct-booking strategy intended to reduce dependence on third-party online travel agencies and improve net revenue per available room for owners.

Larry Cuculic, President and Chief Executive Officer of WorldHotels, framed the rebrand as a portfolio-awareness play. "We have a hotel for virtually every travel occasion, but many travelers only know a portion of our portfolio," Cuculic said. "By connecting our brands, loyalty program and digital capabilities under one masterbrand, we're making it easier for travelers to understand who we are today, while enabling our hoteliers to better compete on a global scale."

The Collection Tier

The transformation also formalizes WorldHotels Collection as the umbrella for the group's upscale and luxury independent properties. The collection comprises six categories: WorldHotels Luxury, WorldHotels Elite, WorldHotels Distinctive, WorldHotels Crafted, WorldHotels Backdrop and WorldHotels Residences. The Residences concept blends private homeownership with luxury hospitality services, while Backdrop targets properties in immersive natural settings — two segments that have attracted significant developer interest as experiential travel continues to reshape hotel investment strategy.

"WorldHotels Collection sits at the intersection of independence and scale," said Ron Pohl, President, WorldHotels Collection, "giving owners access to the commercial power, technology and demand drivers of a major hospitality network while maintaining the tailored, local experiences today's travelers are seeking."

Individual property signage and brand flags will remain unchanged under the transition, limiting capital outlay for participating owners during the switchover.
