Doich Foods, a functional snacking dough brand, has appointed CPG veteran Tracey Warner Halama to its board of directors as the company expands retail distribution and earns recognition in Good Housekeeping's 2026 Snack Awards. Halama spent nearly a decade at Vital Proteins, where she rose to CEO before guiding the company to a strategic exit with Nestlé Health Science. The transaction valued Vital Proteins at more than $1 billion. She also founded Creekside Ventures, an investment firm focused on early-stage CPG brands, and has backed Cocokind and Go Nanas. Doich will now stock shelves at Jewel-Osco and Hy-Vee, adding to its existing retail footprint. The expansion comes as functional snacking—particularly products marketed around nutrition, digestibility, and clean ingredients—continues to gain shelf space and consumer mindshare in conventional grocery channels. The board appointment signals investor confidence in the functional snacking category. Halama's playbook at Vital Proteins, which capitalized on early consumer appetite for collagen and wellness supplements, offers a template for scaling CPG brands in adjacent categories.
