Cinnabon, the bakery chain operating under GoTo Foods' seven-brand portfolio, is deploying Seattle's Best Coffee across all of its U.S. locations, the Atlanta-based parent company said Tuesday — a systemwide beverage overhaul aimed at increasing transaction frequency and average check size.
The rollout replaces or supplements Cinnabon's prior coffee offering with a branded, premium-positioned platform built around Seattle's Best Coffee, a label owned by Nestlé. GoTo Foods framed the pairing as complementary: Cinnabon's signature fresh-baked cinnamon rolls and a recognisable coffee brand are expected to drive bundled purchases that lift per-visit revenue without requiring significant capital investment at the bakery level. No financial terms of the arrangement were disclosed.
For GoTo Foods — whose portfolio also includes Carvel, Jamba, Auntie Anne's, McAlister's Deli, Moe's Southwest Grill, and Schlotzsky's — the move reflects a broader industry pattern of legacy bakery and snack concepts leaning into beverage as a margin-accretive daypart. Beverages typically carry higher gross margins than food items and represent a proven lever for improving franchisee-level unit economics, a pressure point across the quick-service sector as operators contend with elevated labour and ingredient costs. The strategy mirrors steps taken by competitors such as Panera Bread and Dutch Bros, which have both restructured beverage programmes to anchor traffic outside peak meal windows. Cinnabon positions the launch as expanding its "everyday relevance" — industry shorthand for converting what has historically been an occasional or mall-based treat destination into a more habitual morning or afternoon visit. Seattle's Best Coffee's mass-market brand recognition is expected to reduce friction for new coffee purchasers at the bakery counter, according to the company's announcement.
"By bringing together two recognized, quality-led brands, Cinnabon is enhancing its beverage platform to complement its signature fresh-baked rolls with a premium coffee offering designed to drive frequency, encourage bundled purchases and elevate the guest experience," the company said in a statement. GoTo Foods did not provide unit counts, projected revenue contribution, or a timeline for full system compliance among franchisees.
