Two New SKUs, Four Price Points
KitchenAid, the Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) brand that generated roughly $16 billion in parent-company net sales in 2025, is extending its Go™ Cordless System with two fresh-food-focused appliances: a Grater, Slicer, Shredder and a Handheld Vacuum Sealer Starter Pack, both now available on KitchenAid.com. The launches add two product categories — prep processing and vacuum preservation — to a platform built around a single interchangeable 12V MAX rechargeable battery, lowering the cost of subsequent appliance additions for existing battery owners.
The Grater, Slicer, Shredder carries a suggested retail price of $119.99 without battery (SKU KGSLR00) and $149.99 with battery included (SKU KGSLR01), offered in Black Matte and Porcelain White. The Handheld Vacuum Sealer Starter Pack is priced at $89.99 without battery (SKU KVSHR50) and $179.99 with battery (SKU KVSHR01), in the same two colorways. Retailer-set pricing may differ. The $60 premium for the battery-bundled vacuum sealer model reflects the higher runtime demands of sealing appliances: the company rates it at up to 268 minutes and claims capacity to seal more than 500 two-quart plastic zipper bags on a single charge.
Fresh Food Functionality
The slicer-shredder unit ships with three interchangeable blade cylinders for grating, slicing, and shredding and features one-button operation with a feed tube and pusher. KitchenAid cites benchmark performance of shredding an 8-ounce block of cheddar cheese in 30 seconds and slicing a cucumber in 15 seconds. The 12V MAX battery provides up to 48 minutes of runtime under normal use, and all food-contact components are rated top-rack dishwasher safe — a specification that carries meaningful weight among foodservice-adjacent home cooks managing high-volume prep.
The vacuum sealer is positioned at the intersection of meal prep, food waste reduction, and sous vide cooking, three consumer behaviors that have shown durable growth in the post-pandemic kitchen. The device seals proteins, produce, and pantry staples and is compatible with KitchenAid Go™ Plastic Zipper Bags — sold separately as well as bundled in the Starter Pack. Liquid barrier caps and wine sealer accessories are included and dishwasher safe; container lids require hand washing.
Platform Strategy and Market Context
The cordless small-appliance segment has attracted intensified competition as brands seek to reduce consumer dependence on outlet proximity — a particular selling point for food prep in open-plan kitchens and outdoor cooking environments. KitchenAid's shared-battery architecture mirrors strategies deployed in power-tool categories for years, and its application to countertop food prep represents a differentiated positioning in the crowded small-appliance market. For retailers and specialty kitchen chains, the platform model creates attachment-sale opportunities: once a consumer owns the battery, each incremental appliance is priced $30 to $90 lower than the battery-included configuration.
Chadwick Ries, Global Head of Product, Brand and Insights for KitchenAid Small Appliances, described the expansion as a response to demand for tools that "move with them throughout the kitchen and beyond," adding that the additions are designed to prove "convenience doesn't have to compromise results." The food waste angle is increasingly relevant to retail buyers as well; vacuum sealing's role in extending refrigerated and frozen shelf life aligns with retailer sustainability messaging and positions the category for continued growth across grocery and specialty channels.
