Swedish confectionery brand Sockerbit is entering the national natural grocery channel for the first time, launching a bulk Swedish Pick & Mix program in 17 Sprouts Farmers Market locations across California and Florida and placing a 12-SKU packaged assortment in nearly 500 Sprouts stores nationwide — the broadest retail footprint the brand has achieved since its U.S. debut in 2010.

The Retail Footprint

The packaged line went live in October, while the in-store bulk program debuted September 30. The Pick & Mix activation sits in the bulk department of participating Sprouts units, where shoppers assemble their own assortment from 12 candy varieties, four of which are exclusive to the retailer. The 17 pilot locations are concentrated in California and Florida, two of the highest-density natural-grocery markets in the country, giving Sockerbit a data set to evaluate consumer uptake before any broader rollout.

The arrangement is the first time Swedish Pick & Mix — rooted in the Scandinavian lördagsgodis Saturday-candy ritual — has appeared inside a national natural grocery chain. For Sprouts, which operates more than 500 stores across 25 states and employs roughly 36,000 people, the program adds an experiential, customizable confectionery category that sits adjacent to its existing bulk offerings.

New SKUs and Clean-Label Positioning

The partnership anchors Sockerbit's broader SKU expansion. The brand's Dream Series — soft, aerated foam candies previously available only in Strawberry Dream — is extending to two new flavors: Banana Dream and Sour Berry Dream, both exclusive to Sprouts bulk. Sockerbit Mallows are also making their grocery-channel debut at Sprouts, led by Sour Peach, an additional exclusive flavor. The packaged assortment carries no high-fructose corn syrup or Red 40 and uses natural flavors and colors — attributes well-aligned with Sprouts' core shopper, who skews toward better-for-you and free-from purchasing.

"This launch is meaningful to me because Pick & Mix has always been part of how I grew up with candy," said Stefan Ernberg, Co-Founder of Sockerbit. "It's about choosing your favorites, trying something new, and sharing the experience with the people around you."

What the Move Signals

The Sprouts entry is a meaningful channel shift for Sockerbit, which built its U.S. presence through direct-to-consumer and specialty retail before scaling into broader grocery. Natural and specialty grocery has become an increasingly competitive proving ground for emerging confectionery brands seeking mainstream adjacency without sacrificing premium positioning. Distribution in nearly 500 Sprouts doors provides immediate velocity data and brand exposure at a scale most emerging candy brands reach only after years of regional broker relationships.

For the wider confectionery and snack category, the rollout illustrates continued retailer appetite for interactive, experience-driven formats in the bulk aisle — a section that has drawn renewed investment as operators seek to differentiate physical store visits from e-commerce. Brands that can combine a participatory retail format with a clean ingredient deck are finding receptive buyers at chains like Sprouts, where the shopper already expects discovery-oriented merchandising.

Sockerbit has not disclosed financial terms of the Sprouts agreement or provided revenue guidance. Store locations for the Pick & Mix pilot are listed at sockerbit.com/pages/our-stores. Analysts tracking natural-channel confectionery trends will watch first-quarter sell-through data from the Florida and California pilots as an early indicator of whether the format warrants national expansion.
