The Menu Moves

Mimi's Cafe launched its fall limited-time menu across all 38 U.S. locations on Aug. 27, anchoring the seasonal push around an all-day freshly baked biscuit program and an expanded pumpkin-spice lineup that moves beyond coffee into bakery, cocktails, and griddle items. The Richardson, Texas-based casual-dining chain — which operates in nine states from California to Florida — is targeting both breakfast traffic and lunch-dinner dayparts with the new rollout.

The biscuit platform represents the most operationally significant addition. Mimi's is baking the biscuits throughout the day and deploying them as the base for four distinct menu items: a Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich with crispy bacon, scrambled egg, cheddar, and chipotle mayo; Biscuits and Gravy served two ways (classic country herb or spicy chorizo); a Fried Chicken Biscuit "Benedict" with parmesan fried chicken, poached eggs, and country herb gravy; and a Fried Chicken Biscuit Sandwich finished with hot honey. All biscuit dishes are available across all dayparts — a deliberate all-day-breakfast strategy that casual-dining operators have used to drive incremental cover counts during slower mid-day windows.

Pumpkin as a Platform

On the pumpkin-spice side, Mimi's is differentiating by producing a proprietary sauce made with real pumpkin and fall spices rather than sourcing a commodity syrup — a positioning move that aligns with broader consumer-trends toward cleaner-label seasonal beverages. That sauce underpins the standard Pumpkin Spice Latte (hot or iced), and also appears in two alcoholic formats: the Oh My Pumpkin Latte, which adds a vodka shot to the PSL format, and a Pumpkin Spice Martini built with vanilla vodka, cream, and the house sauce. Extending a seasonal sauce into the bar program is a cost-efficient way to lift average check at the beverage line without a separate procurement effort.

Bakery items include Pumpkin Spice Muffins with streusel and sweet-glaze finish — a variation on the brand's signature muffins that has been a menu anchor since the chain's founding in 1978 — alongside a Pumpkin Loaf served with cinnamon butter. Pumpkin Griddle Cakes topped with warm cinnamon apples round out the morning-daypart additions.

Lunch and Dinner Additions

For the lunch and dinner set, Mimi's is leaning into lighter formats that reflect a post-pandemic casual-dining consumer preference for fresh and customizable dishes. A Thai Chicken Wrap layers pulled chicken breast, crispy wontons, fresh vegetables, rice, and ginger peanut sauce — a format squarely in the chicken-wrap trend that has been reshaping casual-dining menus heading into 2026. A Grilled Pesto Chicken entrée, served with housemade basil pesto and a choice of two sides, is designed to flex across indulgent and lighter preference profiles.

The full fall menu is available for a limited time. For a 38-unit chain competing in the crowded all-day-breakfast and casual-dining segments, the biscuit-forward strategy and proprietary sauce investment signal an effort to build incremental frequency among existing guests rather than relying solely on seasonal novelty. Whether the kitchen execution at scale — fresh-baked biscuits throughout the day across nearly four dozen units — translates into measurable traffic and check-average gains will be the operational question to watch through the October–November window.
